Innovative Distance Learning Model: Education Beyond Geographic Boundaries

The defining feature of Beihu College is its pioneering Supported Distance Learning (SDL) model. This innovative approach ensures students receive high-quality educational resources and services regardless of their location—whether at home, in the workplace, or on campus.

The SDL model provides a flexible, instructor-guided learning environment complemented by comprehensive tutoring and academic support, alongside full-service access to counseling, library resources, information technology, and career development. This approach transcends basic online learning, truly meeting the personalized needs of every student, regardless of location.

Through this technology-driven teaching model, North Lake College delivers educational services to over 30 communities in north-central Alberta, covering an area exceeding 164,000 square kilometers. Students complete most theoretical studies locally, traveling to campuses only when specialized practical or laboratory components are required. Reissuance of Beihu College Diploma
